Special Programs in AYSO are those which are designed to enhance the Region experience for the participants. They are supplemental to the Primary Program, which is the heart of all AYSO Regions. Special Programs include Secondary Programs like tournaments and our Very Important Player (VIP) program for children and adults with physical and mental disabilities. There are job training courses available for Tournament Administrators and for VIP Administrators, Coaches, Referees and Buddies. Certification for these positions is attained through taking BASIC or Safe Haven™ Coach or Safe Haven™ Referee.
