How To Propose Amendments
Submit Amendments By March 17, 2012
As we approach the 2012 National Annual General Meeting (NAGM), members of the AYSO community are invited to submit proposed amendments to the National Bylaws and/or National Rules & Regulations for consideration at the NAGM.
The following are procedures for submission of proposed changes:

1. Designate whether you are proposing an amendment to the National Bylaws or the National Rules & Regulations and identify the section(s)/subsection(s) affected by the proposed amendment. Please reference the current version of the National Bylaws and National Rules & Regulations, which can be found on the AYSO website (AYSO.org > Resources > Governing Documents).

Provide new wording, noting any deletions, additions, etc.

Write a brief explanation of the reasons for the proposed amendment.

Include the name, position, Section, Area and Region of the individual(s) submitting the proposed amendment.

Mail, email or fax the proposal to:

AAYSO’s National Bylaws require that proposed amendments be submitted to the National Office at least 70 days prior to the NAGM (May 25-28, 2012). Proposed amendments will be reviewed by the Rules and Regulations Standing Task Force and prepared for distribution to Executive Members prior to the NAGM.
The deadline for submission of proposed amendments is Saturday, March 17, 2012.
Below, please find a sample format to use as reference:

| Effective Date: | Indicate the effective date of the proposed amendment. Note that the proposed effective date of the amendment will be 8-1-2013 unless 8-1-2012 or an earlier date is specified and such earlier implementation can be reasonably accomplished. |
