How To Propose Amendments
Submit Amendments By March 15, 2013
As we approach the 2013 National Annual General Meeting (NAGM) of the American Youth Soccer Organization (“AYSO”), members of the AYSO community are invited to submit proposed amendments to AYSO’s National Bylaws (“Bylaws”)and National Rules & Regulations(“R&Rs”)for consideration at the NAGM.
The following are procedures to properly submit proposed amendments. You must submit a written proposal by Friday, March 15, 2013 that sets forth the following information:

A clear designation of the section(s) or subsection(s) of either the Bylaws or the R&Rs to be amended. Please reference the current version of the Bylaws and R&Rs on the AYSO website (www.ayso.org –Resources/Governing Documents).

The precise proposed language to be omitted and language to be added, noting thedeletions andadditions to the language of the current section.

A brief explanation of the reasonsfor the proposed amendment.

The name, position, Section, Area and Region of the individual(s) submitting the proposed amendment.

The proposed effective date of the proposed amendment. Note that any proposed amendments that are approved at the 2013 NAGM will be effective on 8-1-2014 unless an earlier proposed date is specified and such earlier implementation can be reasonably accomplished in the opinion of the AYSO Board of Directors.
All proposed amendments to the Bylaws or R&Rs must be sent by mail, personal delivery, email or fax to:

The Bylaws require that proposed amendments be submitted to the National Office at least 70 days prior to the NAGM (May 24-26, 2013). Therefore, all proposed amendments to the Bylaws or R&Rs must be RECEIVED at the above-referenced address by Friday, March 15, 2013.
