Nomination of Candidates
Announcement of Candidates for the National Board of Directors
& the National President
Pursuant to National Bylaw Section 4.04 (a), the Nominating Commission, comprised of the fourteen Section Directors and/or their appointees, has completed its review of candidates for election as Directors of the AYSO National Board of Directors and/or as AYSO National President, at the election that will occur during the 2012 AYSO National Annual General Meeting (NAGM) in Seattle, Washington.
Members of the National Board of Directors whose terms will expire at the close of the 2012 NAGM are:
Adrienne Coffin, Bill Hummell, Tom Lebens, Mark Linsky and
Tony Veronico. Therefore, five director positions are open for election in 2012.
Tom Lebens and
Mark Linsky have announced that they will not be seeking election to the National Board of Directors.
Three (3) individuals will be elected as Directors for three-year terms and two (2) individuals will be elected for one-year terms in order to serve out the remaining terms of (1) Mike Marks, who resigned from the National Board of Directors due to health reasons, and (2) Mike Fults, who passed away in November. The three (3) candidates with the greatest number of votes will be elected to terms of three years and the candidates with the 4th and 5th greatest number of votes will be elected to serve the remaining year of Mr. Marks' and Mr. Fults' terms.
The following individuals have been determined by a majority of the Nominating Commission to be qualified candidates for election as
Directors of the
National Board of Directors in accordance with National Bylaw Section 4.04(a).

The following individual has been determined by a majority of the Nominating Commission to be a qualified candidate for election as the
National President (who must be a member of the National Board of Directors) in accordance with National Bylaw Section 4.04(a).

Pursuant to National Bylaw Section 4.04(b), others who are interested in becoming candidates for election as a Director of the National Board of Directors and/or as National President and having their names added to the ballot may submit a petition with at least
six (6) signatures of Executive Members in support of their nomination. The petition must be received at the National Office by
Wednesday, April 11, 2012. As of the close of business on Friday, February 10, 2012, no individual has been nominated by petition pursuant to National Bylaw Section 4.04(b).
In April 2012, a special mailing will be sent to all Executive Members, which will include detailed information on all candidates for the National Board of Directors and National President.
Finally, pursuant to National Bylaw Section 4.04(c), any Executive Member at the 2012 NAGM in Seattle, Washington, present in person or by proxy may place names of candidates for election as Directors and/or President in nomination. Details for this process will be given in the Special Mailing and at the NAGM.
NOTE: In order for a nomination to be considered, the candidate must have a current volunteer application form on file at the National Office.

Candidate information will be distributed to Executive Members prior to the NAGM. Additional information may be required from the nominees and candidates. Distribution of election information received after April 11, 2012 may be at the candidate's expense.
Please note: Every candidate for election to the National Board of Directors will undergo a background check.
